ABOUT ZIPPORAH:

Z_Headshot_alt2.jpg

For more than two decades, Zipporah Peddle has worked with in-demand professional singers and aspiring young performers to reach their highest potential as artists. As a teacher she draws on her depth of experience in starring musical theater roles, as a solo vocalist for large scale production shows such as Cirque du Soleil’s O, and hundreds of performances as a solo and cabaret artist, with bands, vocal ensembles, choirs, and orchestras.

Zipporah’s dynamic career has quite literally taken her around the world, performing in many different languages and teaching a wide range of music, from musical theater to pop/rock to classical. She specializes in helping singers bridge the path between styles so that they may respond to the demands of the industry and helps musical theater performers integrate elements of contemporary commercial styles into their craft to create an authentic, exciting performance.

She has received a Master of Music degree (Vocal Performance) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, a Bachelor of Music degree from Memorial University, and studied musical theater at Sheridan College. Zipporah regularly attends continuing education courses and conducts extensive research to stay up-to-date with the most cutting edge teaching techniques for the versatile 21st century vocalist. Additionally, she is a National Center for Voice and Speech trained Vocologist.

One of the basic principles of Zipporah’s work with students is also one of her great passions – inclusivity. She has dedicated her teaching practice to focus on the individual with a care, sensitivity, and mindful attention to the unique needs of each artist.

In her workshops in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, private studios, and in-house trainings with professional working artists, Zipporah stresses the importance of not only singing beautifully, but truthfully connecting to the character one is playing and living within those imaginary circumstances to create unique, alive moments on stage.

Helping students to prepare for careers on Broadway, in Hollywood, and major productions such as Cirque du Soleil, requires the ability to guide the formation of healthy habits to support a schedule of 8-10 performances per week. Zipporah works as a consultant to help busy working professionals address performance issues and maintain a positive attitude when dealing with recovery from vocal trauma and fatigue.

Zipporah recently worked as a Vocalist Supervisor with an all-star team to premiere The Secret Silk for Princess Cruises, directed by Broadway veteran Jon Tartaglia and produced by Stephen Schwartz.

Zipporah is a proud member of Canadian Actors’ Equity Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the Musical Theater Educators’ Alliance, and the Pan American Vocology Association. She has been a featured speaker for PAVA, NATS, and the Southern California branch of the Voice Foundation and is frequently invited to provide musical theater and CCM workshops for various performing arts organizations.

Ms. Peddle is an Assistant Professor of Musical Theater Voice at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
